SMI Financial Solutions is a locally owned practice that focuses on the client's goals and objectives and maintaining long term relationships. With over 15 years in the financial services industry in various roles, Chris Smith established SMI Financial Solutions with its main goal to provide advice to people in plain language that they will understand. We have incorporated processes and technology to enhance the client experience, which also allows the team to spend more time on client focused activities.
We are excited to be opening a second office, this one on the Northern Beaches. This newly created position will be responsible for providing ongoing high quality strategic and investment financial planning advice to a portfolio of clients, working with warm enquiries, and obtaining new client referrals. The position is directly supported by the General Manager who will assist you to acheive your KPIs, as well as our in-house, admin and paraplanning team who will assist you with end-to-end file management.
Key tasks include:
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Deliver high-quality advice with accountability for the client experience
- Build and maintain internal and external industry networks
- Meet regulatory and audit requirements
- Maintain continuing professional development requirements

Requirements
Industry standard qualifications (minimum Diploma or Degree in Financial Planning, plus FASEA certificate), and 2-3 years experience in a similar role are required.
In addition, the following skills and qualities will be well regarded:
- Exceptional relationship management and people skills
- Strong financial acumen with knowledge and understanding of economics and the financial industry
- Ability to deliver on time, outstanding, personalised customer service via all methods of communication
- Driven to meet and exceed productivity targets
- Critical thinking and effective decision making ability
- Understanding of regulatory requirements
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships in both upward and downward directions
- Specialist accreditation in Aged Care
